Rainy Family Day

The beginning to a perfect day...Sleeping in (after another long night with Boo Boo), waking to the rain falling outside, knowing there was not one thing that I really had to do today. That all adds up to be the perfect morning. But what made it even more complete was to have it followed by a day spent with my happy little family- all being cozy. We all spent the day in our PJ's and sweats, sat by the fire, watched movies while it rained and ended it with some yummy soup (or as Bryce calls is doup) made by Alan. It was the perfect rainy family day!!!

Bryce is getting on the road back to herself- our happy little love. Tonight Bryce and Alan enjoyed a game of "sock ball". Bryce even let out a few high screams in excitement and were they loud. They had such a great time throwing those socks all around the den. It is fun when you can get creative, even with the silliest games to amuse a little one that doesn't feel well.
Bryce has a great throwing arm...maybe a future softball player.

There is Light

There is light at the end of this tunnel for Bryce. She still has a very crummy cold, but she wanted to play today. That is always a wonderful sign that she is feeling better. Now, let's pray that she stays healthy after this little bout. We are leaving next week for a few days to Portland and want her to be feeling well.

We were wondering how long that it was going to take Bryce to stick something in the VCR. It is something that every child does, right? Well, that day came today. Bryce had gone into the office to get a movie and I was in the laundry room. When I came back, she said" stuck, stuck". That is when I called Alan from the office and we both had a good laugh. Then we tried to figure out how she got the entire DVD still in its case in there. With a few tweaks with a screw driver, the movie was out. Yeah Daddy!

Prayer

Bryce started feeling better yesterday afternoon and I was so happy. But then as we went to bed and I was up with her 4 times before midnight, I knew that it was going to be a long night. A mother always knows, and it was a long night.
After already getting the stomach flu this week, Bryce awoke with a chest cold. Is there light at the end of this week for her? Poor thing! At least her appetite is back.
The greatest thing to see as I walked into the kitchen this morning was Bryce and Alan praying over their cheerios, on the floor. Alan told me that Bryce grabbed his hands and pulled him to the floor. She then said "Amen". Bryce enjoys praying so much. She grabs your hands, bows her head and listens to whoever is praying, and not a peep out of her. When you say "Amen", so does she. There are meals though that she wants to stop and pray over and over again, those are really long meals, but how wonderful is that.
Poor Little Love Bug
We did get a partial smile from Bryce today, when she watched "Jump". That is the video of Charlotte and Bryce jumping around the house. She can watch it over and over again, each time is filled with so much excitement (except for today).

It Never Fails

Days full of fun, lack of sleep and what do you get~ a sick Brycie. About 3 hours after I took Bryce's pictures of her in her Reindeer PJ's last night, she came down with the flu. How do you explain what is happening to them at this age? The only thing you can do is provide comfort, it just breaks my heart. Poor little lamb!!!
Charlotte was suppose to come play today, but she came down with the flu too. How weird is that, and they haven't seen each other for 2 weeks. We are praying for a quick recovery for both so that the fun can begin again.

Hey, What's on My PJ's?

Bryce was very curious of what was on her PJ's tonight. I told her that there was a reindeer on them, playing in the snow. She repeated over and over again," snow, snow". That was one of her new words from our trip to Tacoma. These pajama's were a gift from Wampa and Wamma, Thank you!!!

It is so fun to hear all of the new words that come flowing out of Bryce's little mouth. I really love hearing her try to put them together. There are times, that those words are made up, but she is trying. That is what I love.

Tired

With naps to be had, laundry to be done, you have just described our whole day. Bryce was such a trooper with out her regular naps while we were on vacation. We did try to catch her up today, but well. Naps or not, that is a child prerogative. Too bad, this child needs them.

Scramble

Today was a scramble day, run here, run there, enjoy this, soak up that and then get on a plane. I really don't care for days like this, but that is apart of life. We take each day as it comes, and make the most out of each moment that we have. No matter what we are doing or where we are, that is all apart of the road of life. After a very late start, (we all slept in till 8:30) we were off. We went and enjoyed a wonderful, mouth watering, tummy filling lunch at Salty's on the water. Oh, how do I want more of those Coconut Flaked Tiger Prawns....so yummy!!! Then it was time to head to the airport, we hate this part. We did have a wonderful vacation though. Thanks Wampa and Wamma for everything, you spolied us.We finally are home and Bryce is ready for bed. She, her 2 babies and choochies galore, nighty night little one.

First Snow

We all slept in till almost 8:00 this morning, how great was that. Bryce did decided to get up 2 times in the night, her needs were quickly fixed. After having a very difficult time deciding what we wanted to do today, we were finally off on a very fun little adventure.
We started at a very fun little town called Issaquah, where we visited one of Wamma's favorite shops. Bryce did get some very fun little treasure's while we were there. I can't wait for her to wear the little black shoes that we bought her. Then it was time to see some of God's Country....I am still in awe. There where icicles hanging from the rocks along the road, snow covering the tips of the pine tree's, and a beautiful dusting on the ground. It was gorgeous as well as a treat. When we left home 9 days ago it was 90' and hot, what a great change- bundle up weather.
As a child, I grew up watching or "having to watch", but so enjoyed, Northern Exposure. If you have not watched that series, you must. In this day in age it is the male version on Men in Trees. That is where we ended up today. We were in Rosalyn, Washington where they filmed Northern Exposure. We even had a great lunch at the Brick. It was such a quaint little town and full of fun.
Bryce even had one of those "first" moments in her life. She was able to touch some of the snow. She was not to sure of it, but we explained to her that it was just like the ice in Daddy's water bucket for work. As we are standing outside, enjoying all of these, first, the beauty....it was only 20' degrees. My bones must be full of sun still, because I was only wearing a sweater and loved the brisk air.

Being Thankful

This year, the list of things to be THANKFUL for is endless. We are so blessed in so many ways.
As we are here in Tacoma, the weather makes it even a little more fun to cook. It was only around 44' degrees today. So with the warm oven and aroma of turkey it made for a great day.
Bryce had such a wonderful time playing in the turkey box. Forget the toys and give a child a box, that is pure happiness.
This is the view from the dining room table where we enjoyed our yummy Turkey dinner at Wampa and Wamma's.
Well, the sleepiness took over Bryce and she sleep right through lunch. She sure needed it, and took such a great nap. So, of course she enjoyed her turkey after her nap. Many people would say, that Bryce did it backwards, nap then turkey instead of turkey then nap. Life is unpredictable and hey, we are on vacation. There are no rules!

Vashon Island

There is always one place that we have to go to when we visit Tacoma and that is Vashon Island. So we started telling Bryce last night that she was going to go on a boat today. As Bryce awoke this morning you could tell that she was so excited....so after we were all ready, we were off.
Daddy, Bryce and Wampa on the ferry...-mind you that it was only 40' outside. It was such a wonderful change from the 90' degree weather that we left.
The Happy Muller's
Vashon Island
We finally went inside the ferry because it was too cold for the Princess outside. She loved watching the water, the birds and so enjoyed the journey.
This sign is hanging out side of the restaurant that is a must when visiting the island. It's just so perfect in every one's life. Today is special and so is tomorrow. Each day is what you make of it and that is why we should live each day to the fullest. Live in the moment and make it the greatest moment of your life. That is what I think, just a thought. There is so much to be "Thankful for" each day, not just tomorrow.
This is the restaurant that we had lunch at....so yummy!!! It literally used to be a Hardware store...the perfect renovation to the most yummiest restaurant.

Once again, the Princess was such a trooper and great traveler today. She finally had a little nap in the car for an hour just before we stopped to pick up the turkey for tomorrow. While Mommy was getting some laundry done, Wamma made dinner for Bryce and her baby (Thanks Wamma). They both ate really well good job girls.
After dinner, Bryce and Wamma had a great time playing with Wampa's hats. Girls in hats...so cute.
