As I awoke early this morning I was filled with :
sadness: that this first year has gone by so quickly.
joy: that I am the Mother of the most amazing little miracle, Bryce.
excitement: that it's her 1st Birthday and I get to celebrate not just her, but this last year of unforgettable blessings.
As I went to her room to check on her and watch her sleep, I opened her door and was shocked by how "stinky" her room was. Then I looked in her crib to see vomit everywhere and her asleep in it...GROSS!!! We had not even heard a peep all night. Poor little thing.
Well that was the beginning of her very horrible no good very bad First birthday. LOL!! As we started making calls to cancel the party...I cried. They say, that "the First birthday is more for the parents" and that is true, but oh how I wanted her to have this special day (we will reschedule). I had baked her a special cake, the house and yard were covered in pink tulle and balloons, the guest were invited, the food ordered and here we were undoing it all. As I told my sister that the party was canceled she said "welcome to parenthood". SO TRUE!!
As the day progressed Bryce just slept more and more. When she woke from one nap, I said that I have to have one picture at least to mark her real 1st birthday. Oh, she was so not happy with me.
....then I got the flu.
