Sweet and Precious

What a precious way to begin the day! We have been so bad about getting out to see the Brown Family and so this morning we made sure that happened. All the way out to Riverside Bryce said, I'm going to see my cousins, I'm going to see my cousins." It is so hard to even believe that Bryce was that small once and now look at her, our precious miracle at 2 1/2.
We had such a great but very short time loving on these special little boys. I just can't get enough of them, they are so precious. We are going to try to get out there again this week to spend more time with them, but there are things like Jury Duty that have to come first. Can I say....ugh to many times?

Other plans

Bryce had other plans today besides taking her nap (I pray that we are not outgrowing them already) when I put her down. Once I heard nothing in her room, I decided to take the chance to get my workout in. While I was working out the monitor was on, but I didn't hear anything but the fan in her room. But about 5 minutes after I was done with my 45 minute workout, I hear something and it was not a sleeping Bryce. I went into her room and this is what I found, my daughter wearing her pull-ups. Yes, one was on right, but she had put an extra one on around her waist (not sure how she did that) and then she proceeded to tear apart (Velcro sides) the rest of the 48 in the package. UGH!!! I couldn't help but to laugh, I am so bad. But then I snapped back into my mother role and took care of the situation.
It was time to try again for a nap I put her back down. With a little more time to get things done, I took the chance to take out the trash. As I was walking back from outside, something (motherly instinct) told me to look up at Bryce's window. Yes, you guessed it, there she stood with the biggest smile on her face. She was waiving and saying, "Hi Momma!" I think that I am in trouble, but with a smile on my face.

Sweet Dreams

Can you can, "Ahhh?" With Bryce in a little chair beside her, Grandma Ginny was sewing away and this sweet little gown is what was made. This is the third little nightie that Bryce has had made for her in the last few weeks and we all love them. Bryce runs around with them on and says with the greatest glee,"my nightie, my nightie." Thanks for making such adorable little nightgowns for Bryce, Momma. She defiantly has sweet dreams in them while looking so sweet.

Sun and Sand

For several weeks, we (Ann and I) have been talking about several fun things to do this summer with the kids. Well, we made that happen today with a trip to a new beach, Crystal Cove. While taking a Sunday afternoon drive this last weekend, the Baiseri family stumbled onto a wonderful new spot. We are so glad that they did because we loved it today.

It is a quiet little place that is full of magic and history. As you walk down the path you come to an old rustic little beach village. There are little cottages for rent right on the beach, a restaurant, a shake shack and a little store. The beach is the greatest part, there are tide pools and because it is really a tucked back place, no crowds. All the kids had such a great time, as well as Ann and I. The girls were so great happily playing in the sand and we never had to chase them once away from the water. I guess we should enjoy that now, because we know that it won't stay this way forever.

Greysen heading out to boogie boardNice wave, Grey!
It's a beautiful day to play in the sand, Mommy!
The person that made this hat, had Charlie in mind. She is so stinking cute in it.
Which way did they go?
Not that way!
Have you seen my feet?
Still looking so dang cute and having fun!
Looks like they wore themselves out, to bad they only fell asleep a few minutes before we were home.
Thanks for the great day again Ann!

Evening Stroll

Tonight was such a beautiful night so we decided to go take a little walk around the lake. These are some of the flowers that I planted because I miss my garden. They are doing so great, and so is my one special white rose bush!:) A Blue Herring (I think that is what it was) decided to visit the lake today.
This is Libby. She is the one of the original swans here at the lake. Unfortunately she was attacked by a coyote in May and was very injured. But do to some quick rescuers, a lot of care from the vet and rehab from great neighbors here (they cared for Libby on their porches and yards. Libby couldn't be at the lake for 2 months because of stitches and bandages that needed to be changed several times a day), she is once again back on the lake. We are so happy to see her swimming around and once again eating the bread that we throw to her.
Bryce enjoys seeing Libby so much, that when we are across the lake she starts screaming,"Libby, I'm coming to see you, Libby, here I come!" My precious little love, Bryce turns 2 1/2 next week. Where did all this time go?
Thanks for the daily smiles Bryce, you light up my life!

Bikini

Bryce was rather funny or just being modest when I put her new bikini on her today. She wasn't sure about why it didn't cover her tummy. It went something like, "Mommy, it doesn't fit me (tug, pull, stretch as she tried pulling the top over her tummy to meet the bottoms) it doesn't cover my tummy". The last time that Bryce was in a bikini was when she was 9 months old on the beach in Hawaii (would I love to be there right now). After explaining the concept of that it was o.k. for her tummy to show, she was ready to get in her little (very little) pool. Where am I suppose to sit? We tried telling Bryce she has too many toys in her pool. Silly girl!

The next phase...

Well, we have reached the next phase of growing up...or so we are very encouragingly trying. Bryce and Charlie are both the proud new owners of some very cute big girl pants. Yeah Girls!!! But whoever said that training girls was easier than boys, never met these two. It is rather funny to watch these two interact, specially when it comes to who is going to "go" first. They try to one up each other and have made a little game between themselves out of it. Whatever it takes we are all for it!
